Baseball
Tee Ball (4-6 year olds)*
The heart of Westgate Hills organization. Is an Instructional introduction to the sport of organized baseball for
both boys and girls. A non-competitive, nurturing environment is emphasized. Parents are encouraged to participate and cheer
for all players.
Farm Division (7&8 year olds)*
This division creates a non-competitive instructional
introduction to the game of baseball. Emphasis is placed on basic baseball skills, Positional play and developing teamwork.
This division uses a pitching machine for its games to enhance the player's confidence and batting skills with a consistent
pitch. Half way through the season player pitching will be introduced in conjunction with the pitching machine.
Minor
Division (9-10 year olds)*
Westgate's initial introduction to competitive baseball. This division introduces players
to increased levels of baseball skills including pitching, base stealing, defensive strategies and basic hitting technique.
All games are played using paid professional umpires under modified Cal Ripken rules designed to provide a rewarding baseball
experience. The program mandates a minimum of two defensive innings of play with all players batting through the order.
Major
Division (11-12 year olds)*
Introduces the player to the full range of baseball in a fun, competitive environment.
The program gives the player instruction in game strategy and specialized technique to further develop baseball skills and
teamwork. The division operates under Cal Ripken rules while maintaining safety standards with modification such as the must
slide rule. The program also mandates a minimum of two defensive innings of play with all players batting through the order.
All new and returning players in the Minor and Major Division must attend the Evaluation!!!!!!!!!!
*All players
in these divisions will receive a complete uniform consisting of a shirt, pants, socks and hat .Each player will also receive
50 chances (if sold it will reduce the registration fee by $50.00.) There will be no more then 14 players per team.
TOUNAMENT
PLAY 8-12 year old
Tournament teams are available for selected players in the post-season provided they have participated
in regular season play. An open try-out will be held to determine each team. Individual costs are additional in the event
a sponsor is not available.
